Built for Impact
The design vision for the new Mesa Gateway Public Library was to create a modern, inviting civic space that balances bold visual energy with calm, functional environments. The architecture demanded contrast — large-scale, immersive focal points in high-traffic gathering areas, paired with softer, understated finishes in the reading and study zones. To achieve this, the project required a specialized wallcovering contractor capable of executing both highly complex custom murals and precision acoustic felt systems within a large-scale new construction environment.

One Seamless Result.
Valley Paint was contracted by Extreme Drywall Concepts to handle the complete wallcovering scope for the facility. In the main gathering areas and lobby, our specialists installed custom Dreamscape Terralon murals — large-scale, holographic, and abstract designs that required flawless pattern alignment across expansive walls and around three-dimensional architectural features.
In the study nooks and quiet reading zones, we installed Mura acoustic felt wallcoverings, providing a clean, matte finish that significantly reduces noise reverberation. Prior to installation, all surfaces were meticulously prepped and sealed with Gardz wallcovering primer to ensure optimal adhesion and long-term durability across every square foot of the facility.
Zero Margin for Error
Working within a large, multi-area public building under active construction requires rigorous sequencing and coordination. The primary technical challenge was the precise alignment of the Dreamscape Terralon murals — these large-scale, layered holographic designs carry zero margin for error. The acoustic felt systems presented a separate challenge: exact, clean cuts around built-in seating alcoves and architectural coves were required to maintain the seamless appearance the design demanded. Valley Paint worked in close coordination with Willmeng Construction and Extreme Drywall Concepts to ensure proper sequencing throughout the final stages of the build.
