Bringing Island Vibes
to Arcadia Crossing

When Hawaiian Bros Island Grill expanded their island-inspired concept to Phoenix, they chose Arcadia Crossing — one of the metro's most competitive restaurant corridors — as their proving ground. The challenge wasn't simply applying paint. It was pulling off a uniformed brand experience that flowed from the vibrant exterior all the way through to the custom-designed interior, communicating the warmth and island personality of the Hawaiian Bros identity at every surface.

The project required tight coordination with other trades in an active build-out environment, precise application of durable materials suited to a high-traffic restaurant setting, and the flawless installation of owner-furnished custom wallcoverings that served as the visual anchor of the entire space. Valley Paint was brought in to deliver the complete painting and wallcovering scope — from substrate prep through final finish.

Inside and Out —
Every Surface Considered

On the exterior, we applied Sherwin-Williams Super Paint to create a vibrant, durable finish capable of withstanding the intensity of the Arizona sun while capturing the brand's welcoming, island-inspired ambiance. Super Paint's 100% acrylic formula provides exceptional fade resistance and flexibility — critical for a restaurant exterior in the Phoenix climate where UV exposure and thermal cycling can degrade lesser coatings within a single season. The exterior scope set the tone, drawing guests in before they ever reached the door.

Inside, the scope required precision across multiple surfaces and finish types. Walls received Sherwin-Williams Promar 200 Eggshell — a commercial-grade interior latex selected for its durability and cleanability in a high-traffic dining environment. Ceilings were finished in Promar 200 Flat to complement the warm wood décor without competing with the pendant lighting. The exposed structural deck was coated in SW Dryfall Flat, delivering an industrial-clean look without overspray risk to the finished surfaces below. Hollow metal doors and frames throughout the space were finished in PI Waterbased Alkyd Urethane Semigloss — a commercial-grade product that cures to a hard, scratch-resistant film suited to the constant use of a busy restaurant.

The centerpiece of the interior was the installation of owner-furnished custom wallcoverings across three distinct zones: a striking "Aloha" light lettering piece in the front window area, an intricate Hawaiian-themed artwork mural on the main dining wall, and a playful water-and-surfer design running the length of the corridor leading to the restrooms. Each piece required careful surface prep, seam alignment, and a clean final install. With large-scale lettering and custom artwork, even a small misalignment would be noticeable.

A Space That Travels
with the Brand

The Arcadia Crossing location opened as a standout destination in one of Phoenix's most competitive dining corridors. Through expert craftsmanship and close coordination with the Hawaiian Bros build-out team, Valley Paint delivered a visually cohesive space that immerses customers in the brand's story from the moment they step inside. The custom wallcoverings — particularly the "Aloha" window piece and the dining wall mural — became immediate conversation starters, with guests frequently sharing the space on social media and tagging the location.

This project demonstrates Valley Paint's capability as a full-scope commercial painting and wallcovering contractor for restaurant and food service environments — where brand identity, material durability, and installation precision all have to perform at the same level. From exterior curb appeal through custom interior wallcovering, every surface was treated as part of a single, unified design intent.
